Book Review: If We’re Being Honest

Book: If We’re Being Honest

Author: Cat Shook

Thank you to NetGalley and Celadon Books for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This story follows the Williams family. The patriarch of the family has passed away. Following their passing all of the cousins and other family members have come into town for the funeral. Their best friend Fred delivers the eulogy which was funny because he was drunk and then gave the family a shocking revelation. You then start to learn that every character has something going on that they have been hiding from the family.

In the very beginning you get a rundown of the Williams family, which is quite large. It did get a little confusing trying to keep track and remember who was who for a bit. I did also have a hard time during some chapters because some paragraphs would jump characters without notice. I had to do some rereading at times which can be frustrating.

I will say the ending was good.

Final Score 3/5
