Book Review: Lessons in Chemistry

Book: Lessons in Chemistry

Author: Bonnie Garmus

I absolutely loved this book!

The story is based in the 1960s when women were meant to be housewives and stay home to take care of the house and the kids.

Elizabeth was the total opposite. She is a chemist working at Hastings Research. This is where she meets her soulmate Calvin Evans, an award-winning chemist. They are enjoying their life together when tragedy strikes.

Fast forward a few years and Elizabeth has her own cooking show on tv. She is such a strong woman that fights for what she wants and for what she believes in.

Aside from Elizabeth, there are so many great characters to love from a loveable dog “Six-Thirty” to her daughter “Mad”. Each character brings something to the table that makes for a great ending.

I really enjoyed reading her story. This book will give you all the feels from laughter to tears. Plus it has one of the smartest dogs ever. A dog that knows over six hundred words. It is a must-read that definitely lives up to the hype.

I loved buddy reading this with my Booksties Mary and Phyllis

Final Score 5/5
