Book: The Summer I Turned Pretty

This series has been on my to be read list for over a year. Now that the show is out I just knew I needed to read it before watching it. The book is great. It follows a girl named Belly who spends every summer at Cousins beach. It is a perfect summer read with all the feels. I am so excited to watch the show and to continue the book series!
UPDATE: I watched the show and LOVED it!

When things are hyped up I usually do not like jumping on the hype train but most of the time it can not be avoided. For me, The Summer I Turned, I was able to NOT jump on the hype train. This was one of those stories that I can understand why people like it, but it just wasn’t for me. With the exception of Jeremiah, none of the characters were really likable, Belly being the worst for me. I had a hard time rooting for Belly when I felt she was selfish and just not well developed. I will continue through the rest of the series but I am not really happy about it.
