Kristen’s Review:

Tom Segura’s I’d like to play alone, please was an excellent read. If you are a fan of Tom Segura or just comedy in general this is a book you will enjoy.

If you are familiar with Tom Segura then I have a challenge for you. Try to read this book without reading it in his voice, it’s not possible. Every word I read was read with Tom’s delivery (to the best of my ability) making me laugh the entire way through. He really found a way to capture his stage presence in written words.

Some of the stories will be familiar but add some context to the story you already know. For me it made me appreciate the original jokes even more. Then of course there are new stories that you will hear for the first time. If you ask me what my favorite story is, I really can’t tell you. Every part was packed with laughs. I have read a few books like this and this is by far the best one I have read.

Final Score: 5/5

Brian’s Review:

I wish I could say I was a Fan of Tom Segura from the beginning but sadly that’s a lie. I do however remember the moment I became a fan. I was listening to different comedians on random and Tom Segura came on. Once he said, “yeah but you have four kids” I couldn’t control my laughter. I was instantly a fan. I then found out he had a special called Completely Normal and I watched that countless times. I was beyond excited when I heard about this book and even more excited when I received the book.

If you are already a fan of Tom Segura this is a great book for many reasons. There are some stories that will add a lot of context to some of his jokes we already know and there are stories that you have never heard before, all equally funny. The way he writes he achieves the impossible, you somehow feel his stage presence through written words. This was a book I couldn’t stop laughing while reading. I have read quite a few books like this and this is hands down the most put together and the funniest I have ever experienced.

If anyone close to Tom Segura reads this please “tell that mo’ f**ker I appreciate him”

Final Score: 5/5
